Tobacco is an agriculture product and it is taken from the Nicotiana plants' leaves. It can be used, consumed in the form of nicotine tartrate. It is used as organic pesticide, in some medicines which are used. There are many forms of consumption of this tobacco such as chewing, smoking, snuffing, snus, dipping tobacco. Generally, it is smoked.

Short-term effects:
Immediately the body responds to the chemical nicotine in the smoke when a person smokes a cigarette. Blood pressure, heart rate, and flow of blood from the heart are increased by nicotine by using cigarette. It also causes narrowing of arteries. The amount of oxygen that the blood can carry is reduced by carbon monoxide. An imbalance is created by effects of nicotine in the demand for oxygen by the cells and in the amount of oxygen the blood is able to supply.

Long term effects:
Lung diseases, larynx, coronary heart disease and stroke, esophagus, cancer of lungs, mouth and bladder are caused by smoking. Not only those, smoking can cause cancer of pancreas, cervix, kidneys etc. More than 40 chemicals have been identified by researchers in tobacco smoke which cause cancer in humans and animals. Smoking harmful effects do not end with the smoker.

Many adverse on their off springs outcomes like babies with low birth weight, and increased risk of infant death and with a variety of infant health disorders, if women use tobacco at the time of pregnancy. The environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) effects the health of nonsmokers adversely. It was estimated that 3,000 non smoking Americans died of lung cancer and 3,00,000 children are suffering from lower respiratory-tract infections in each year because of ETS exposure.

What is Tartar?

Tartar is also known as calculus which is a form of hardened dental plaque. Tartar is different from plaque which is caused by bacteria on the teeth but usually they are present in the mouths of people. Plaque is responsible for forming the tartar because the plaque will have a rough surface so that it is easy to build up more plaque on it.

While tartar refers to sticky substance on the teeth, it hardens both above and below the gums of the teeth. Formation of tartar above the gum is

called  supragingival and the formation of tartar below the gum is called as subgingival.

This sticky substance will tend to formation of yellow and brown stains on teeth. Once these stains are formed it is difficult to remove because those stains are so hard and removed with the help of dentist only. Address munging is the practice of disguising, also known as munging, an e-mail address to prevent it from being automatically collected and used as a target for people and organizations who send unsolicited bulk e-mail. Address munging is intended to disguise an e-mail address in a way that prevents computer software from seeing the real address, or even any address at all, but still allows a human reader to reconstruct the original and contact the author: an email address such as, "no-body@example.com", becomes "no-body at example dot com", for instance. Any e-mail address posted in public is likely to be automatically collected by computer software used by bulk emailers — a process known as e-mail address harvesting — and addresses posted on webpages, Usenet or chat rooms are particularly vulnerable to this. Private e-mail sent between individuals is highly unlikely to be collected, but e-mail sent to a mailing list that is archived and made available via the web or passed onto a Usenet news server and made public, may eventually be scanned and collected.

Disguising addresses makes it all the more difficult for people to send e-mail to each other. Many see it as an attempt to fix a symptom rather than solving the real problem of e-mail spam, at the expense of causing problems for innocent users. However, legitimate replies may be lost by this technique. If the email address is not the user's true email id, then it should be a completely invalid one otherwise some other server or address may get the spam for it. Disguising e-mail address in a systematic manner (for example, user[at]domain[dot]com), is just as bad as not disguising the address at all as such addresses can be revealed through a simple Google Search. Transparent address munging is another method used where in the actual email address is obfuscated from automated email harvesters, by displaying all or part of the email on a web page as an image, a text logo shrunken to normal size using automated CSS, or as a jumbled text with the order of the letters restored with CSS. Is the recession over?

After passing through such a drastic period of recession, people are still enthusiastic to know if the recession is over. As you can see that there are much hype on layoffs, surging unemployment rate, inflation rates, etc. in the news, can we assume it’s over or atleast slowed down a bit?

The chiefs of two central banks of US and UK said that their country’s economies have emerged out of recession. Mervyn King, the Governor of the Bank of England and Ben Bernanke, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, have given the good news in separate statements.

According to Mr. King – “the British economy was growing again”. And Bernanke says that “there are now signs that growth has resumed”. However, he also added that the symptoms and the weakness are going to stay for a little while.

Though, none of them says that recession is over, their statements signal that the economies are no longer under it.

Lithium Inefficient as Batteries for Hybrid Cars

The hype of lithium batteries for hybrid cars might not remain the same for a long time. Toyota Motor Corp is testing on lithium batteries since three years for its hybrid cars. And the test results come out unfavorable for the costly lithium. They conducted their tests with the popular Toyota Priuses, one of the best hybrid cars in the market. After the test results they seem to be using nickel instead of the lithium-ion batteries, in their hybrid cars.

However, the durability of nickel batteries might still need to be checked. It seems that Toyota is all on its way to help its customers to buy these hybrid cars at cheaper prices. The current prices of hybrid cars or cars that run on batteries are far cheaper compared to regular cars. It is obviously the cost of the batteries that make them so expensive.

Its good news for the people trying to buy hybrid cars…but what about those major companies that are all set to sell their lithium-ion based cars?
