Different Events Which are Played at Olympics

The world famous major international games where thousands of Athletes participate every time are called as Olympic Games. Here, a wide variety of competitions will be conducted once for two years. For every two years, either the winter or the summer Olympics will be conducted. The winter Olympics will be conducted once for every four years and same is the case with summer Olympics.

These Olympic games are very prestigious games and the ancient ones which have been originated in Olympia, Greece. But, the committee was formed in 1894 with name International Olympic Committee. Apart from the summer and winter Olympic games, there are even paralympics and Youth Olympic games are also conducted.


Coming to the events of the Olympic games nearly 300 events will be conducted among 30 disciplines and with 26 sports. Initially, the sports are broken into disciplines and among them different events will be conducted. If we categorize the summer Olympics 26 sports are played and if we categorize the winter Olympics 15 sports will be played.


The different sports which are played at Olympics are Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bowls, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Diving, Equestrianism, Fencing, Gymnastics, Hand Ball, Hockey, Judo, Modern Pentathlon,Netball, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Volley Ball, water Polo, Weight Lifting, Wrestling. All these sports are again categorized into disciplines like suppose wrestling consists of two disciplines Greco-Roman and Freestyle and again these sports are in turn categorized into events for men and women.


Thus, many athletes across the countries will part in this auspicious events, for proving their talent.

The Indian Car Maker Maruti Has Improved its Sales

As the demand of the customers is increasing and has remained strong during the past months, car sales in India are on hike. Even the new models and the favorable rates are making Indians to show much interest on purchase of the cars.

Maruti the Indian car maker is enjoying sales, as the sales are on peak and will reach upto 1 lakh-mark for the first time. When compared to the sales of last year, there is a tremendous growth in the sales percentage and it is 28% i.e., from 79,872 units in May 2009 to 1.02 lakhs in May 2010(the sales even include the exports). Coming to the sales in the domestic market, the increase in the sales will be from 70,785 to 90,041 units and it is 27% hike.


The demand of refurbished WagonR and the multi-utility wagonR are increasing the sales of the company .


Apart from Maruti, other companies like Hyundai India, Tata Motors, M&M, Ford and even General Motors sales also increased in the month of may. Factors like low interest rates, new products in the market, positive economic outlook are increasing the sales this year.

Nissan Micra, the New Model of Nissan Can be Seen on the Roads Of India

Marks of growing car industries in India will reveal India as the fastest developing country in the sales of India. As many companies of different countries want to launch there new models in Indian market.

Now, the famous automobile manufacturing nation, Japan wants to launch its new model of small car Micra in the Indian markets. The Micra was manufactured by the company called Nissan. According to the company, the car will be released on July 14,2010. Oragadam of Chennai will host the inauguration of micra. According to the sources of the company, the version of the hatchback car will pricey about Rs.4 lakh. This model will give a tough competition for the Maruti's Swift and the Hyundai i10 and i20. The cost of these cars will be ranging from Rs.3.44 to Rs.6.95 lakh.


From the end of may, the bookings were in process and the orders reached 1,049 as of now. The company officials are celebrating the initial response of Indians. The Indian customers will be delighted and will be serviced well with this Nissan Micra.


80,000 units of the new Micra will be produced by the company during the first year for both the domestic, export markets. From the later half of the year 2010, Micra will be exported to all the other 100 countries apart from India. Some of which are Europe, Middle-East and Africa.


Initially the company is planning to release Micra in five countries, out of which four countries are Thailand, India, China and Mexico and yet the fifth country is to be decided.


As the company is planning to market 1,00,000 vehicles by the end of 2013, in order to achieve the target more nine new models are yet to be launched which includes sedan version of Micra.
