Know About Different Dress Codes in Parties

Parties are of great fun and enjoyment. Every aspect of it has been given equal importance and the one who follows all the party etiquette will be always paid at most respect. One of such party etiquette is dressing. This is an important thing to know since every party do not follow similar dress code. In general there are three basic parties, and each follows its own style of dressing. So, if you are invited to a party it is essential to know the kind of party and dress accordingly. Here are few tips which helps you in dressing up for four different parties.

Black tie party: A black tie party is a formal party in which every one is dressed accordingly. This party simply requires a black tie for men and an evening gown for women. For a black tie optional party a modern tuxedo, fashionable jacket, dark suit or a cocktail dress in more than enough. For women, long dresses fits the occasion. The more conservative the night is, the longer will be the dress size.

White tie party: This is the biggest formal event which is normally reserved in royal events. Only for the parties which are planned after six in the evening, men has to wear a white tie. Men will wear a waist length coat with two tails in the back, wool or silk pants with stripes down the legs, white shirt, white wing collar and an opera over coat. For women it is simply the ball length full gown. As an evening accessory shawls and white gloves which are white in color are accompanied.

Lounge or cocktail party: Its a very casual occasion unlike the classy black tie and the formal white tie parties. For men, black or blue colored suit with a stylish shirt and a tie which is optional are accepted. For women, its complete casual, a short elegant cocktail dress, with vibrant colored accessories, clutch purses and shoes are best fits.

These are dress codes one has to follow while going to the parties. Just check the invitation to find out the kind of party and if it indicates that the dress code is optional or preferred, you can dress up slightly less formal if it is optional.
